Donating materials to the Habitat ReStore

The Habitat ReStore accepts new and used building-related materials from contractors, suppliers, individuals, remodelers and property managers. Some materials are used directly in the construction of Habitat homes, but most are offered to the general public to purchase at reduced prices. Here is a listing of some of the generous companies who have donated materials so far. We want to thank all of our individuals who donate as well-- you are the foundation of our success!

Step 1

When you have good, reusable or new materials, give us a call at (912) 729-3633. You will be asked for a description of the materials as well as your contact information. Please indicate if you are able to deliver your donation to the Habitat ReStore, if not we will be more than happy to schedule a pickup at this time.

Step 2

If you left a message, your call will be returned to determine if we are able to use your donation and to schedule a drop off or collection time.

Step 3

If the Habitat ReStore is picking up donated items, please call if you are unable to meet us at the pick-up time. For the safest, most efficient pick-ups, please follow these guidelines:

• If you are leaving them on the driveway or outside for our pickup, please clearly mark for "Habitat ReStore"
• Please have items easily accessable
• Absolutely no hazardous materials
• We are unable to haul away trash

As we are only able to accept reusable materials, our staff may have to decline some materials at the time of pickup. Please don't be angry or insulted by our screening process. Our goal is to parlay the proceeds of our sales into the construction of Habitat homes. If we take items we cannot sell, we end up simply being a storage facility or a repository for the dump.

Paint:	We will take full containers of latex paint purchased from a paint store! NO LEFTOVERS! We cannot take toxic, hazardous substances, (i.e. pesticides, powders, paint thinners, or other chemicals). Wallpaper is taken in full-unopened rolls
Appliances:	We accept dishwashers less than 5 years old, clean and in 100% working order. All other appliances 10 years old or less, must be clean and in 100% working order with no missing parts. We will test them when they are brought in and if they do not work, will not accept them. Please include owners manuals if you have them, as they add value to your donation.
Cabinets:	We will take cabinets in complete units. They must have doors, shelving, display racks, etc.
Doors:	We accept doors if they are in GOOD condition only. They must not have holes, cracks, rot, etc.
Flooring:	We DO NOT accept shag carpet, but will accept carpeting if it DOES NOT have stains or worn areas. We will accept new vinyl flooring. We will accept any amounts of tile. Wood flooring, also accepted.
Lumber•Plywood •Sheetrock•Trim:	We accept full and1/2 sheets of plywood. We accept full lengths of lumber. We will accept trim in smaller pieces. Please, no rot or nails sticking out of lumber.
Bathrooms•Sinks• Etc.:	We accept tubs, sinks and vanities if they are in good condition and clean. We accept toilets only if they are in working condition . They must be very clean!! We will not take a dirty toilet under any circumstance.
Roofing:	We accept all types of roofing material such as rolled roofing material, tar, metal roofing, bundles of new shingles. We also accept roofing gutter materials that are in full pieces and are not rusty, bent up or damaged.
Windows:	We accept DOUBLE PANE windows of all types if the glass is intact. If they are casement type, we appreciate having the hardware and cranks.

We also accept:

• Plumbing, usable fixtures, parts and supplies
• Electrical, usable fixtures, parts and supplies
• Hardware, knobs, hinges, locks, nails, cabinet pulls, nuts, bolts, screws
• Tools, hand, garden, working power
• Millwork/trim, wood casing and base, vinyl base, ceramic
• Miscellaneous, masonry, sheathing, siding, drywall supplies
• Furniture

Items the Habitat ReStore cannot accept:

• clothing
• lead-based materials
• toxic materials
• items that are broken, are parts of larget items, or that would take a great amount of labor to fix
